What time does school begin and what time is dismissal?
Morning assembly begins promptly at 8AM for PreK-8th grade
Dismissal for PreK-4 is 2:40
Dismissal for 5th-8th ( Middle School) is 3:05
Is Before and After-care offered?
Before-School Care is offered beginning at 7:15AM and After-Care is offered from 3:05-5:45. There is no charge for PreK-4 from 2:40-3:05
On school days that are scheduled as 1/2 days Lacordaire still offers Morning and After-School Care
What is an average class size?
PreK and Kindergartent both have a full time teacher and a full time aid for 15 students.
Average class size 18 for 1st-8th grade
5th -8th grade split classes of approximately 9 students per class) for the following disciplines: Math/Science and Reading
Do you have to be Catholic to attend Lacordaire?
We welcome all faiths. 60 % of our students are Catholic. Religion classes are required for all students PreK-8th
Is transportation offered?
Lacordaire does not offer transportation however we do assist families to arrange carpools.
Is there a lunch program?
Students bring their own lunch to school.
Are extra-curricular activities offered?
Competitive sports are offered for 5th-8th grade as follows: Coed Volleyball, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball
PreK-4th are offered participatory clubs introducing sportsmanship and building skills. Clubs listing can be found on the website.
Do the students go on field trips?
Throughout the year all students in the Lower/Middle School will experience an age appropriate field trip.
What testing does Lacordaire administer to students and in what grades are they tested?
Lacordaire administers the Terra Nova exam lst-7th grade
Lacordaire administers the COOP (Catholic High school Entrance Exam) in 8th grade.
What World Languages are offered in the Lower/Middle School?
French is offered PreK-8th grade
Spanish is offered to 7th and 8th graders

Do you offer bus transportation?
We do not offer bus transportation but we assist families in arranging carpools.
What is an average class size?
We have 18-20 in a class and with some disciplines split- allowing 9 or 10 respectively in class
Does Lacordaire offer AP and College Credit courses?
We offer AP and College Credit courses - refer to the Academic link on our web for more detailed information.
What World Language is offered to Upper School students?
We offer French and Spanish all 4 years.
What percentage of graduates attend college/university?
100% of our graduates continue at college/university level. Lacordaire graduates are traditionally offered substantial scholarships for college.
the Class of 2012 - with 22 members - were offered over $3million in scholarship money in the various colleges/universities they were accepted at.
Does Lacordaire offer extra-curricular activities?
There are several clubs for students to become active members of and clubs meet weekly during the school day. The clubs offer the girls leadership opportunities as well. Lacordaire has a competitive sports program offering Volleyball, Tennis, Soccer, Basketball and Lacrosse.
Do you have to be Catholic to attend?
We accept all faiths and 60% of our students are Catholic. Religion class is required by all students 9th-12th grade.
